ART

Experiences Matter

The Arts in all of its forms are physiologically calming. As little as 45 minutes of an
Art activity is known to reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone). Art activities are suitable for all age and developmental and skill levels. Used as a form of therapy for students without judgement; Art is about the process and not the outcome or final product. Rather, quietly focusing on the movement of the paint brush or colored pen across the paper while slowing down ones breathing is known to reduce stress and anxiety. ( Kaimal, 2022)
